The exhibition presents 97 pieces of Yu, Youhan’s works covering three stages of his art career since he tried making abstract paintings in 1980s. The important series of “Round” integrates meditation and combination of Eastern philosophical spirit and Western abstract art. Comparing his works belonging to different stages, we can notice the subtle gradation and intricate expression of the artist’s personal emotion. From the works of the earlier stage, we can identify the exploration of expression in abstractionism that the artist had made before the “Round” series came to him. |
